Becky Goddard-Hill is a mum and a homemaker who lives in Nottingham with her husband Jonny and her 2 little kids Frankie (5) and Annalise (2). She is also (though rarely acknowledged as such) a cleaner, cook. entrepreneur, story teller, play worker, party organiser, chauffer, accountant, first aider, counsellor, odd jobber, gardener, toy constructionist, artist and savvy shopper …she could go on and on and oh yes a writer too!
Prior to becoming a full time mum Becky was a Social worker and then a Child and Social care Training and Development officer for Nottingham City Council Social Services. She specialised in writing and delivering training in
child development and child communication courses. Becky is also a qualified psychotherapist and has worked predominately with young people and mothers.
1. To stay off work to raise her children
2. To be happy and fulfilled in her family life
Should be simple but these 2 ideals are becoming increasingly difficult for modern day parents to achieve. To this end Becky has been very creative over the last few years making and saving the money she needs to stay off work. She has run an extremely part- time take your baby along baby signing business, she has done many car boot sales, she has learned the wonders of eBay and Amazon, she has budgeted wisely and so much more. Writing her book is her chance to share all she has learnt with others and hopefully help build a whole community of sharing, smart thinking parents who can free up time to be with their children.

Hi Becky, I love your blog! What a great job you’ve done with it. I’ve only recently started my blog and I’m really enjoying it and when I came across blogs like yours it really inspires me to make mine better. I totally understand where you’re coming from, I work part-time at the moment as a teacher and while I love teaching, I love my children and our family life more. I’ve recently found out I’m expecting my third and really want to stay at home as long as possible with this one. Thanks so much for your inspiring words, I would like to link to your blog in a future post if that’s OK with you?
Thanks,
Michala
