My children are no longer babies and they seem to be growing at a very alarming rate. My youngest is almost at secondary school. How on earth did that happen.
My son asked me the other day if he could have a TV in his room and somewhere to sit other than hi s bed. I think he wants his own bedsit!
At 10 he is not going to abandon us completely just yet but I do understand why he wants a comfy chair in his room. He absolutely loves to read and in the daytime he doesn’t want to be sitting on his bed to do that with his back against a hard wall..and downstairs? Well it is a little busy and noisy and he (the nosiest of all us most of the time) is after a bit of peace in his ‘old age’.
In his bedroom at the moment is a bed, a desk and a chest of drawers and not really room for too much else except a few book cases. He does need more room to grow and develop and become a little more independent.
I had a look over at Room to Grow and think I have found a few really great solutions:
This fabulous high sleeper would allow him to have his desk under his bed and so release room for an armchair for him to chill in or a giant bean bag. I love it. A great solution for a small space. A thrifty solution too compared to having an extension!
This one combines a desk, a chair and a bed so would free up loads of floor area and give him much more ‘space.’
This last one I am showing you is my absolute favourite and my son’s too, it does everything. The sofa folds out int0 an extra bed for sleepovers and the desk extends too. Isn’t it amazing!
These really are beds that give kids room to grow
