In today’s internet age the rise and rise of the freebie has lead to a boom in everything from
free books, games, food and drink being given away to the UK public each week and Ross
from peazyshop.co.uk explains how to grab a piece of the action for yourself!
Books
Amazons Kindle has been a triumphant global success and one catalyst that got the ball rolling
was their offering of free ebooks. – BUT the beauty of the whole thing is you don’t actually
need a Kindle to get your hands on them. You can download them to your PC, Ipod, Laptop,
anything with an internet connection. Check the Kindle section of Amazon for the latest
freebies to read which can range from anything from Jane Austen to Paul Pilkington.
You can also find over 36’000 free ebooks at the Gutenberg Project too.

Music
If you have never used Spotify before, then what are you waiting for? Spotify’s database has
millions of music tracks with everything you can think of included in it. It’s completely free to
use in exchange for listening to the odd advert every so often, so not a bad compromise in my
books!
Free Software
Software can be an expensive business, but with the increase in open source and cloud
computing you don’t even need to pay for most software now.
Openoffice – is a free office management system virtually the same as Microsoft office, so you
can bang out documents, powerpoints and spreadsheets for nothing.
Gimp is a free photo editing suit that will do most things that you need for basic photo editing.
CutwPDF – if you need to edit PDF’s this one does all that without the pricetag.
If you want to do all this on the go and never loose anything again use Google Docs which is a
full free cloud based office suite.
Food & Drink
Many retailers are now tapping into the free coupon and giveaways market as a way to try out
new products on consumers. Keep your eyes out on forums like Freebies Stuff and
Moneysavingexpert which list free coupons but also free samples that are posted out to you

great round-up , thanks. Spotify is great, and a friend just read Anna Karenina and War and Peace on her Kindle because they were free to download, so free stuff can be educational too!
Great advice as always! The free book selection is amazing and there also so many things that you can download for around a pound aswell, so it’s well worth a look. I intend to look into Spotify in the New Year as lots of people rave about it!
