How you can help eliminate maternal and newborn tetanus across the world with just one photo

Babies are the bees knees aren’t they? They just make us smile ALL the time (when we aren’t having a little weep from lack of sleep)

Now just by simply wearing a nappy they can spread their magical awesomeness out into the world by helping save other babies too.

Pampers & UNICEF joined forces in 2006 to focus on a common goal to eliminate maternal and newborn tetanus from the world. That’s a pretty fabulous goal right there but what’s more impressive is how far they have come.

eliminate maternal and newborn tetanus

They are incredibly half way towards achieving this goal  with 500,000 babies saved as a result of the partnership.

The disease has now been eliminated in 19 countries.

Isn’t that just completely fantastic.

That being said, there are still 19 more to go – so there’s still work to be done but there are some great plans in the pipeline.

Have a look at this little film it will completely melt your heart.

This year Pampers and Unicef are working with expectant mum Kimberley Walsh, to inspire mums and dads to get involved; this year even your little one can save lives by doing nothing more than wearing a nappy.

Kimberley says:

I feel hugely honoured to be supporting the Pampers-UNICEF campaign in its 11th year. As a mum to Bobby, and expecting my second child later this year, I feel great empathy with other mothers around the world who, just as I do, want nothing more than to deliver a happy, healthy baby. The reason I’m so passionate about this campaign is that mums and dads here in the UK can make a very real difference by doing nothing more than buying the Pampers that they need for their little ones. It’s phenomenal and makes me feel very proud of what we can achieve together.

So how can you help?

Between October and December, for every pack of Pampers sold through the “1 Pack = 1 Vaccine” campaign – Pampers will donate the cost of a vaccination against Maternal & Newborn Tetanus (MNT).

Isn’t that just wonderful so just by buying a pack of nappies can save a life.

Simply sharing a photo can save a life

If you share a photo of your amazing baby with #1photo1vaccine or #PampersUNICEF, on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram – Pampers® will donate the equivalent cost of one vaccine!
