Mothercare – Clothes to play in

My kids aren’t like those you see on glossy websites swinging along in a fresh white dress or cream chinos with shiny hair and glowing cheeky and not a grass stain in sight. Oh no . My two are always tumbling out of school with shoes scuffed, twigs in their hair and green stained knees. They don’t go in like that and other kids seem to come out as they go in so…hmm. I have to conclude they are just really fab at playing (or mucky pups)

I was delighted when Mothercare sent an adventure playpack to my daughter.

It contained a bird book and a story book and it had a brilliant explorer kit

It also had some great walkie talkies

She was enchanted and insisted we head off bird spotting straight away. So book in hand, we hit the local park.

We spied a robin and a wren and ticked them off.

We came home to play on the walkie talkies (which I loved as much as the kids) and then Lisi grabbed the binoculars and went dinosaur spotting in the garden. Fabulous. An adventure on our doorstep (look at those muddy knees!)

Along with the adventure pack Mothercare sent us a lovely dress from their summer collection. Their clothes are ‘

‘…. made for children to be children in, so are made for the rough and tumble of a day out in the woods, or a picnic on the beach’

The lovely dress we were sent is so pretty and just perfect for looking lovely in …..

but most importantly having a good old play in too.

These  are the kind of clothes I like my kids to have . Ones they can move in , jump in get dirty in and adventure in …so they can be kids.

The red gingham dress we were sent form Mothercare quite unbelievably costs just £6

and if bought with the pretty butterfly dress (also jersey cotton) I could get the 2 for £10. Bargain!  Lisi’s verdict on her new dress was ‘comfy and pretty’ then she forgot all about it and ran off to play. Exactly the way it should be .
