On Friday it was the MAD blog awards (parenting blog awards.) I had made the final in two categories and was very excited. Thanks to the gorgeous One Stop Plus I had a rather splendid frock and glittery shoes. Thanks to Miglio jewellery I had some beautiful pearls to wear.
Thanks to the lovely Verbaudet too for sponsoring me to attend the MAD blog awards!
Unfortunately I did not win MAD small business blog however it was won by the gorgeous Lisa Pearson from The Mummy Whisperer who helps mums feel great through her online coaching workshops and tools. She is gentle, powerful soul and rather lovely so I don’t mind really!
The best blog post of the year award also escaped me. The very deserved winner was my good friend Carol Smith who has a lovely blog called Dance without Sleeping and who wrote an important post about depression and how she copes. Well done my love and good for you for speaking up.
The evening was great fun and there were some fabulous winners. My good pal Maggy scooped 2! for best pres-school blog and best craft blog. You may remember she shared posts with all summer about crafting on a budget. Maggy writes the RED TED ART blog. Here she is with Anna from The Imagination Tree who was crowned blogger of the year for her inspiring arty crafty and play blog. Wondeful, both of them!
Ruth from Geek Mummy made my facebook page after I cried on Twitter ( I love her) and she was awarded the most innovative blog and Pippa from A Mother’s Ramblings won best family fun (she’s funny) The wonderfully amusing Emily from More than Just a Mother won best writer and so on…I can’t name them all (Dragon’s Den is about to start) but I have to agree with everyone’s choices…. do check out these blogs.
Thank you Ms Sally Whittle for putting on an excellent evening and to Parentdish for their sponsorship of the Mads.
I spent an evening with people I genuinely care about respect and admire. Blogging can be a lonely pursuit and it is SO lovely when our funny, feisty, strong, supportive community put on thier glad rags and get to celebarte together,
Pleased to be a part of it.
