So although I have been blogging a long time (2007!) I still get excited about blogger meet ups and still have much to learn. Blog camp is my favourite place to do this

Last weekend saw me heading to blog camp in Birmingham and a fabulous free blogger event run several times a year by Tots 100. For anyone that doesn’t know Tots are a huge online parenting community with over 8000 members. Blog camp is an event to learn more about blogging and this year I was speaking with Penny from top UK parent blog Parentshaped about Pro-Blogging and how to monetise your blog.
Penny and I are neighbours and friends and although our blog routes have been very different we both make a living as bloggers. She is the perfect person to speak with; generous, organised, enthusiastic and funny.
We had much to share and it was fun!
I myself attended two fabulous sessions on the day and may well reinvent myself as a food and fashion blogger one day soon.
Mel (Le Coin de Mel) and Elizabeth (Rosalilium) taught me about food blogging and how Pinterest really works for them. They were both so passionate I almost forgot I’m a bit of a rubbish cook!
Katherine (Kat got the cream) and Christina (KitKeen) taught me that that fashion blogging is for everyone not just the slimmer ladies and and we should celebrate ourselves. They also suggested pretending you’re a tourist when posing to stop you feeling self concious. Great tip !
I saw lots of old friends who I love, love, love, had a great laugh and feel re-inspired about blogging.
Sally and Lindy put on a great event and if you haven’t been to a blog camp I urge you to sign up next time. You could learn how to take photos, be filmed, make money or even explore a new blogging niche.
What did I learn? Mainly I learned that I still really love blogging and that there is lots still to explore.
Blog camp rocks!
I loved your session with Penny, I think we’re totally on the same wavelength. 🙂 Was lovely to meet you and I hope our paths cross again in the future!
This is why I wish I lived in the UK! Fancy a blog camp in Dubai?? X
Glad you had a fab time. I loved my day, too, and took lots away from your session with Penny, so thank you very much for sharing your experiences and bloggy wisdom x
love love loved seeing you there! Promise you’ll be at the MADS this year! It wasn’t the same without you!
I couldn’t agree more: BlogCamp rocks! The day was full of fun, laughter and fab sessions. I loved yours. The two of you out a different perspective into pro-blogging, and I found it really interesting. X
As ever, it was gorgeous and fab to have you there, and what a fantastic session you guys put together. Thanks so much and glad you had a great day 🙂
