Time to lose the stabilisers

Today – time to lose the stabilisers

Aren’t bikes just the best investment ever?

Time to lose the stabilisers

I know they aren’t cheap (though second-hand is fine!) but bikes provide hour upon hour of lovely fresh air and exercise and outside time together.

Endless play.

I have had some lovely times trailing behind my kids or even walking along as they ride back and forth just being together.

We like to go down by the river, along the canal or to the National Water Sports Centre together and pootle along. We like to be beside water! It is almost time for my daughter to lose her stabilisers and I guess then she will be whizzing rather than pootling.

I feel quite sad about the stabilisers going . You give your children roots and wings though don’t you and I guess its time for Lisi to stretch those wings.

In some ways perhaps a mum is never as ready as her child for this to happen!

Lovely bike ride days with little kids…how precious. Seeing them grow so precious too. Ah,the contradictions of parenting.

Cycling is such a great budget activity. Have a look here at lots more ideas on low cost activities to entertain kids

I hoep you have enjoyed my post – time to lose the stabilisers – I have lots more of my play posts here

So true, in so many ways we want them to make the next milestone and yet at the same time it is sad to see a life stage pass by. I now struggle to keep up with my eldest on their mountain bikes yet for years dreamed of them being able to ride out properly with me! A lovely post and enjoy those cycling years ahead. Thanks for linking to Country Kids.

My daughter has just got into riding her bike and I love watching her. Reminds me of when my mum taught me in our back garden how to ride without stabilisers. Love those memories. 🙂
