It’s dark, dreary, cluttered, windowless. Uninspiring.
I have always had a dream that when I write I can look out on a garden full of flowers and be inspired.
Currently I work facing a wall shoved into the tiny corner of my kitchen. I have neither enough room or a window to dream from.
I am really lucky to have a (slightly tatty and fressing ) conservatory, I would love my consevatoruy to have a table in by the windown looking out on the garden so I could work form there. But it is cold and draughty and the electrics don’t work properly and it can only be lit by a lamp. A home renovation to make this room right for me to work in and the kids to play in would be amazing.
I would need advice…do we need a normal roof putting on there. new electics? Can we change the sliding doors (which always worry me with little fingers?) I have lots of ideas but I need an expert. Oh how lovely it would be. A lovely place for me to work would be divine. I am sure it would lighten my heart and inspire me to write those stories that I know are bursting to come out.
These images show the light, the colour, the feel, the garden, the vibrancy of my ideas. How different to where I write right now, Now to translate them to a space and place I can work.
I would need light and heat, perhaps a new roof? and definately new doors in my conservatory, plus a big lovely desk (with drawers!) to make this happen. I can dream right…?
Here is my pinterest board of my home office ideas

Good luck in this competition! I love your Moodboard of flowers, light and bright and reminiscent of nature. Fingers crossed
I so hope your dream comes true!!
Thanks Amanda x
I moved my desk out of the attic room and into the playroom (which never actually gets used for playing!) I now look out at the garden and it has made a big difference. I get more work done around the kids now, although I miss hiding away from everyone upstairs and sometimes the temptation to work over play is too great. Difficult balance, but I hope you get yours right and you work soooo hard Becky!
Thanks P yes I should just do it
oh I LOVE your Pinterest board, the path is gorgeous…and imagine writing on the old typewriter
Thank you for your lovely comment on my garden entry by the way. You are lovely. xx
