Tell us your best saving tip
Scottish Friendly have teamed up with Louie Spence to launch the #ThriftyFamily campaign. Louie will be demonstrating some of his favourite money saving tips with a series of videos I love that someone as fun and flamboyant as Louie is fronting this #thriftyfamily campaign as I know financial stuff particularly the money saving kind seems to be a bit dry and boring on occasion. Louie however adds fun and flamboyance to thriftiness and that is no bad thing at all.
Being thrifty is creative and can be great fun!
I was delighted to be involved and share my own thrifty tips and for that I turned to one of my most favorite subjects …food!
My top thrifty tips around food are absolutely nothing new., Common sense rules when it comes to thriftiness but its always worth revisiting common sense. I don’t know about you but mine tends to go out the window when I am busy!
My top thrifty tips around food include…
1) Knowing the best way to store food items
2) Knowing a bunch of good leftover recipes…I’m thinking soup and bubble and squeak
3) Making sure you have a great meal plan in place so you know exactly what you need
4) Shop to a shopping list and try and not get distracted
5) Don’t’ shop either with the kids or when you are hungry! Both will cost you more
If I had to pick out my top tip though it would most definitely be this one….
