Autumn brings to mind leaves, harvest moons, Goose fair, misty mornings, back to school, browns, reds, yellows, greens, memories of my dad and thoughts of tartan! I think about squirrels, bonfire night and getting the winter duvet out. I like to think about next years holidays, getting the hot water bottles ready and buying in some cocoa. A truly lovely season.
Autumn always makes me think about new shoes too.
It’s funny how you make these associations isn’t it..but Autumn is definitely shoes month for me.I love Autumn shoes.
Back to school shoes
First of all there are back to school shoes. shiny and clean ready for a new year of play times, walking to school, being polished and speedily outgrown ( and scuffed!) These are must buy Autumn shoes.
Splash about shoes
Next of course are wellies. Oh I absolutely love buying new wellies for the kids.I think they are the most fun shoe there is!
At their old school there was a big welly day every Autumn where everyone bought in old out worn wellies and lined them up in the school hall. Later that day you could just pop along and choose your child a new pair. great recycling venture! Any left were taken to charity.
Comfy indoor shoes
Next up its time to embrace slippers again. As it gets colder I would always suggest reaching for your slippers, drinking warm drinks and popping on an extra jumper before cranking up the heating, it can save you £’s.
Don’t these from Bell’s shoes look cosy.
Last but not least Autumn makes me think its time to get out my long boots to wear with leggings or chunky tights and stride along kicking up leaves and having fun with the kids.
New school shoes.Old boots. Wellies and slippers.
How lovely are Autumn shoes .
